I am being told by my dealer that I need to pay a subscription for the Cobra Tracker fitted as standard in new UK Vantages

As it is fitted as standard I naively thought that included the first year subs

Anyone picked up a new Aston recently and know any different? Not a big deal but just interested to know

Also someone once mentioned to me that one year AMOC membership is included. True?

Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

Getting close to pick up now? £215 per annum for Cobra. Not sure about AMOC membership with it but I got my insurance via Lockton's who give 1 year AMOC membership.

True - subs are not included unless of course you haggle from them in the deal. Its £250 p/a now for one year - I renewed mine last week.

I don't think you get free AMOC membership either, as above can come free via Locktons on your first policy with them.

Oh, Adam, you were doing so well. You fell in to the trap so deftly avoided by Frankie.

The AMOC membership comes as part of the Lockton's policy. It's not free, though many think it is smile

I fully accept the abuse you are about to give me biggrin

Thanks for the replies good to know

Yes, not long now, Saturday pick up hopefully

Jockman - yes to the teeth. Don't we all? Those of us that still have our own teeth. They are still there in the morning though.

Not having a good day as someone drove into my Audi today which was due to be dropped off tomorrow having been sold to a dealer. So a bit hacked off even though liability admitted etc it is a right royal PITA. I know could have been worse, could have been the brand new Aston and no-one hurt.

No, I had to pay and Aston tried to charge me twice for the subscription.

Its a personal thing whether you take it out, insurance may require it but some don't, and the subscription is over 50% of my insurance costs. Personally if someone drives off in my car I think I'd prefer never to see it again.

Yup - some Insurers don't require it so your choice, Hash.

IIRC a GPS blocker from ebay will circumvent it anyway wink

I agree with all the sentiments here but I think my insurers do. Will double check. Thanks

My car is just coming up to 1year old. My Cobra contract came with the car without any additional charge. Guess the renewal will get me though!
