Due to renew my policy for the T350. Been with same company for two years. Got the renewal at £464. Problem was last year it cost £330. I've had no changes to my circumstances - so not too happy. Got on the net and got some quotes from £297 to £375 from four other companies! All a fair bit less than my company. So got back on the net and gave them another try. Unbelievably I got a quote for £252!! So phoned and went through the whole quote process (staff were great by the way) and they confirmed the lower rate - a £212 differential from the same company just on a different day!
Obviously took the lower price and the staff told me that this is NORMAL and that they are computer generated daily.
Just glad I tried three times then. What did surprise me was that companies you would not have thought would be competitive are now.

Who did you end up with? I went through RHClassics and although not the cheapest by a few quid, there policy offered more.

Interesting - any clauses to the insurance, limited mileage etc?

I'm coming back to the UK & looked to insure an A6 and TVR Griffith thinking £1,000 for both would be about right. Contacted Adrian Flux and quote £1,060 but NO TRACK DAY cover ..... so I looked around and found
£492 Aviva & £550 Admiral ..... why go to a "specialist" insurance Co if no added value at x2 the cost ?

That is what I found to some extent - many other providers are now able to compete in the "specialists" market.
AF quotes are often just ridiculously high tbh so never bother contacting them now.

Mannings want £433, Privilege just quoted me £157. That's a significant difference

As my Tuscan is my daily drive I can't go with any limited mileage policies which rules out most specialists anyway. 2 years ago I insured with Direct Line as it was transferred from my old car & it was nearly £900. Last year I changed to Churchill as it came in at £319, insured as a normal every day car. Got my renewal through in June & they put it up to £850!! So went online & got a new quote from Churchill & came in at £210?! Anyway for 12,000 miles per year, £0 voluntary excess, parked on a drive way at night & public car park during the day, social domestic pleasure & commuting, protected no claims, legal protection, hire car, basic breakdown cover etc etc, I'm not complaining! thumbup

After reading this thread and with my renewal due at the beginning of August, I thought I'd try an online quote with Privilege for my Griff and, wow, about £100 cheaper than Manning. Apart from no trackday cover, which Manning have reduced to UK only and ATDO + FAEO members, and base level euro cover, there appears to be no significant difference, unless anyone knows more.

Anyone got any claims experiences of Privilege to report?

My insurance is due on the 16th. (Mk I Tuscan)
I was going to renew with my current insurers, Manning. The renewal quote is £294. That's for all the usual cover but only 3000 miles.

I thought I would do a quick compare with Churchill

5000 miles
Protected no claims (9+)
£0 excess
Green Flag breakdown
Courtesy car

£163.........have I missed something ??????

Nope, as I said above mine is £210 with 12,000 miles per year on a mk1 Tuscan. Not sure what's changed in the last 2 years or why, but I aint complaining!

Do any of the mainstream insurers cover track days?
