Knowing you can always rely on some blunt views on here, I could do with a little assistance.

Below is a picture of my passenger rear side bumper on my 2010 V12V.

When I purchased the car, in writing it was stated before delivery that the bumper needed to be reseated and tail lights replaced due to condensation. Neither of these things happened. It then went back in at a later date. Tail lights changed, sharp plastic edge sticking into the paintwork damaging both sides. Still getting condensation.

Went back again to the main dealer and go to their body shop to take it apart, repaint the damage from the light edges and generally sort the problem once and for all.

over 2 weeks at the bodyshop for this specific issue and this is what it looks like. Apparently the service manager and sales manager thought it looked great as they signed it off.

I'm going to stick to this point rather than a couple of other issues as well. Am I being unrealistic and need to just accept this, or do you think this is unacceptable? Apologies for the sideways photo, but I still think it shows what I'm talking about.

cheers
Ross

I think that is totally unacceptable. Make a fuss and get them to honour their commitment and do it properly.

thanks guys, that's kind of how I felt. Just wanted to check I wasn't just building it up too much in my head.

I'm sending the car to well known specialists for a service and once over next week and I've told the dealer I'll be back in touch after that.

My main concern is why they can't fit a bumper right. Whether there is an underlying issue.

Looks distorted to me. Probably won't go back on properly and needs replacing. Hence the dealer keeps trying to make it fit as thats cheaper.

Correctamundo. Top of the class for you, Speshul.

That's an incredibly easy thing to fix. Aston has little metal clips that they use to align the sills and bumpers to the body. It just needs an extra one. You just remove the wheel well liner or move it aside, attach the clip and put the liner back in place. Done.

took it to my independent of choice. Lights position corrected, bumper way better - not perfect, but I can certainly live with it.

Service and a bedding in process that has greatly improved the sound of my brakes.

took a couple of days, rather than the couple of weeks it took for the main dealer to achieve next to nothing.

Happy customer.
