Samsung LCD TV makes films look like reality TV
Discussion
I've not got a flat screen telly, I'm still on an old CRT. I've popped round to my parents' today and whilst looking though the HD channels and watching a film (The Insider) on Netflix a lot of the material looks like a cheap soap opera, or reality TV.
Is this purely because I'm not used to HD, or is there likely to be a settings issue to make it look a little better?

Netflix can also lower the quality of the video due to slower internet connection, so make sure that's not the reason the quality looked poor.
Having said that there have been discussions in the past about CRT vs. flatscreen and it all gets a bit heated but I still stand by the fact my 32" Sony CRT had a better picture quality than most cheaper flatscreen TVs.

I saw a 'home cinema' display at Goodwood FOS this year; the TV was a B&O set which I imagine wasn't cheap. They showed a clip of Bullet and it looked like a documentary, I thought it looked awful. The motion just seemed odd and it was almost too sharp, yet some there were saying how amazing it looked.
