Hi, I hope somebody has some advice for me. My 57 plate c max is making a whirring noise and has a loss of power, however there are not any engine management lights on and there is not any smoke.
i need to drive it approx 1/2 mile to the garage.
Does this sound like the turbo???

Many thanks.

A whirring noise could be all sorts of things, turbo is one possibility (assuming of course that it is a turbocharged engine). Definitely a garage job though, rather than a remote diagnostics over the Internet kinda thing.

Any chance it could be the clutch slipping. This would give the illusion of loss of power.

Wouldn't there be lots of smoke if it was the turbo?

That's what I'm hoping! Drove 1/2 mile to garage yesterday with no loss
Of power, just awful noise that sounded more like flapping this time?!?
