Pub argument needs settling if you chaps can help. Silver 96 Variocam 993 C4S, 84k but absolutely perfect- has had £18k lavished on it over the last two years to keep it perfect. Silver over dark blue, just lovely. What do we think it's worth? I say £55k, he thinks £47k... See pics.

All very hypothetical, just a bit of fun!

I suppose £50k(ish) is about right. Really good 993s that tick all the right boxes are getting very sought after.
Certainly looks nice, however, few things might cause concern:
- Mileage is getting close to the sensitive 6-figures
- £18k expenditure!!! I'd be worrying how original the car is. Has it had issues, how original is the paintwork, did it go through a period of neglect?
- History will be important

As far as I am aware it's incident free, all money spent has been in name of keeping it spot on. I'm very jealous- although more so of his Speedster-bodied 356! He's on here also, will try and get him to pop in.
Thanks for the replies! Personally I think the mkt is nuts- but what do I know

Priced about right for a private sale if stacks up. A similar one sold for £50k in a day a week ago. Recognised dealers would have it up at £65k plus with warranty.
Makes the £35k I paid for mine a year ago (from dealer with warranty) look cheap lol
I thought the one that sold for £50k had mileage around 36k. Buy in condition but mileage will always command a higher price. Makes the £35k I paid for mine a year ago (from dealer with warranty) look cheap lol
Jontt - with hindsight your car was a great buy.
Pub argument?
So is he putting it up for sale?
The fact that he's lowered it so much may put the purists off, and the Metropole can also limit your market....
But of course the market is bonkers for air-cooled at the moment so that won't make any difference.
Why don't you buy it off him for 47 and sell it for 55? Argument settled.

Yes well buying it from him would be lovely, but he's becoming a hoarder in his old age and despite doing very few miles as of late he's reluctant to let go of it. And 47 is what he thinks it is worth, not what he would sell it for. I couldn't possibly afford it at the moment sadly, hence in my OP- it's all just for the sake of a good argument/debate
He should keep it then. Anyone would be stupid to sell a WB 993 at the moment IMHO. It'll be worth £100k before he knows it. Bonkers market or still underpriced, never to be repeated piece of automotive art ?
Ps I think the stance looks great if it's not rubbing, just about got mine right at the rear.

You did well.Makes the £35k I paid for mine a year ago (from dealer with warranty) look cheap lol
I was looking 4yrs ago and the only ones at that sort of money were over 100k miles.
Air cooled 911 prices are the only thing making Ferrari prices not look 100% half baked at the moment
