Fake ///M

These seem to be hugely on the increase. I saw four today alone. Including an ///M 116i. It shouldn't annoy me, but it massively does. The psychology behind acquiring the badge, lining it up, standing back and thinking 'f*ck yes, I have myself a Motorsport Division BMW'. So very odd.

Surely not? I'm referring to the badge on the rear as oppose to the little M Sport badges littered throughout the interior.

I feel it is that they aspire to own an M sport BMW, but don't have the means to buy or ensure one, so instead ape the look, to make them appear better off, or a little light fantasy and fun.

Same as S badges on an Audi or AMG badges on a Merc.

Owners of true M, S or AMG cars know the difference.

It makes me more inclined to de-badge if I'm honest, that way you're being anti-establishment.

The M Sports now have a small badge on the wings, anything else would be added by the owner, OP needs to get a life if this winds him up.

Do you mean an M car or an M Sport?

I've owned both and have actually enjoyed my M Sports more than the full M.

Usually a diesel as well, the number of fake M5's I've seen that when started emit a large black cloud of soot and then proceed to rattle their way off down the road! They need a D not an M!
