I'm about to put my C2S up on classified and looking for some valuation advice.

It's a one owner car - I bought it new Jan 2007 and it's been OPC maintained throughout.

The car's done 55k miles and has a Porsche extended warranty until Jan 2015.

It's Atlas Grey metallic, black leather interior, PCM2.1, Bose, 19inch Sport Design Wheels, sports exhaust, sports seats, sports shifter.

Any advice on where I should pitch it?

No idea, but ...

whenever I've sold a car privately you have to look at the competition, i.e the private ads on PH, autotrader et al, make minor adjustments based on mileage (most important), condition (harder to compare 'cos all ads say 'great condition)and extras (not really significant unless you have, or don't have, a much sought after extra).

Don't take the wrong way, but your car sounds very standard so I would have thought easily to find the going rate from the classifieds.

Early 997s have a huge % spread/variation on price, after all your talking about a 7 year old cars (so hard to really compare any two cars)

As an example , a couple months a go a friend of mine took in px almost exactly the same year, spec, mileage car (had been subject a year earlier to a £10k++ engine rebuild, still under warranty)

He paid very high teens, added a couple of tyres etc and retailed for early to mid £20's (sold in 48 hours)

No doubt there will be ads out there for 56 plate 997s for high £20s.

For me the OPC warranty would put it nearer trade prices than private prices. Somewhere in-between sounds good. The PSE is desirable too.

Good luck!

I've just sold my 997 C2S . I tried to trade for a couple of cars and struggled to realise its potential. I spoke to a couple of dealer / Traders and the both told me the same that because of the engine issue that effect these engines it's very hard to sell them. My car was fine good history no oil use great spec chrono nav phone etc but a lot of people won't touch them. You can debate the amount of cars and severity of the engine concern, I personally don't think its as widespread as the internet would have you believe but unfortunately it's too late. I think these are fantastic cars, the best sports car for all round use and I don't believe that until I buy another Porsche 997 I will have my perfect car again (I used work at a prestige garage and have first hand experiance ) but if I'm honest the engine issue did play a part in my decision to sell it.
I agree with the above comments do some research on equivalent models and based your sale price on that. Remember that dealers OPC and specialist can add a premium and they also have finance facilities. If they have one in their showroom you can bet it didn't cost much and they have a good mark up in it £2 to £3k at least.
