It's the girlfriend's birthday in a couple of weeks. Whilst a pen might sound like a crap present for a girl, she's a surgeon. As such she doesn't wear jewellery, etc. She uses a boggo Parker fountain at work so I thought I'd get her a nice pen, engraved with her name.

Montblanc seem to be the go-to brand, although they all look quite manly. Whilst I doubt she'd want a Hello Kitty special edition, something a little more delicate might be nice. Any suggestions? Order online would be good as I'm working away right now. Budget around £300.

For those who use them day to day a decent pen is a lovely thing to have.

I got myself something a little more mundane that, but it's still a really nice object to use during the daily grind.

I'm sure she'll love your gift.

You beat me to it as I was spending time rummaging through my draws for my Mont Blanc I never use. Not seen the girlfriend yet though so maybe I should be offering a Platignum.

Christ! If it's not aggressive drunks on a Saturday night, it's Morecambe and Wise on Sunday morning.

I'd suggest looking at ST Dupont - an ex used one as her daily writer.
