Swirl Pot / Header Tank 98 4.5

After hours of head scratching and looking for a physical hole seems the header tank may have a mighty small leak but can I find it.... The tell tale signs are streaks down the side of the tank from around the middle where the jubilee clip keeps the expansion hose close. Tried running up the engine to temp but still no sign of leakage. Leave car to cool overnight and mounting plate as a covering of pink water aka antifreeze.

Anyone have a spare…..

Expansion pipe at the top of the sweal pot ?

Just underneath the join you can see the stain made by the antifreeze, imagine the thickness of alloy is thin and may have become porous or the jubilee clip has reacted with the alloy causing corrosion.

Looks like a reweld or a new pot
Can you get it presher tested a rad place should be able todo it

Will check with our local rad supplier see if its something they can test.

If they're just pinholes then chemical metal will probably stop it leaking.

A good pressure test is the way forward, you'll see the leak for definite. I'd imagine the breakers will have plenty knocking about.

Ones I have seen £70-£80
