Hi Ted,

Just a thought. When you have posted a reply to a thread, and then come up with the "Back to Forum / Return to topic" buttons; could you make it so that if you hit "Return to Topic" you go to the LAST page of that thread, not the first?

I ask because I always go to a post I've just made to check how it's come out, and also if there's been any more replies...so each time I push return to topic, and then go to the final page?

It's not a major grumble at all - please dont get me wrong - just a thougth that I had in the efforts of "streamlining"

Thanks for all the great work
Tony

If you have posts ordered "newest first" (ie. descending) rather than "newest last" (ie. ascending) then this is a non-issue.

So if Ted does "fix" this then he'll need to be careful not to break it for people like me who use descending.

(Try it - it makes finding the latest post SO much easier)

ooooo I didn't know you could do that, thanks!

Having said that though, it isn't half difficult now - though perhaps that's because of been doing it "the other way" for 18months now!

This is goign to take some getting used to, and in my mind seems a little weird, but in the interests of community spirit () I'll give it a go.....

I tried doing it this way but just couldn't get the hang of it at all.

Oh well, whatever is easiest for you. It works for me.

I also order my emails newest first too.

I admit that it is difficult to read an existing thread this way, although it does get easier with practise, but where it comes into it's own is with threads you are following, because it makes it so much easier to pick up the new posts since you last read it.

I will admit that the main reason for this is that the forum always defaults to the first page, which in 'ascending' is the oldest.
If Ted ever changes that default to the latest page then I'm buggered.

Strangely, me too. Also, of course, if you reply to an e-mail you reply at the top. Interesting that - with everything else I do computer related it's done the other way......with PH, it's like I described above.

I can't read threads backwards! Looses all continuity!
I do prefer the idea of it going to last post rather than 1st after replying.
