More immobiliser problems

No, not me, just thinking that starting problems and immobiliser issues seem more rampant than usual at the moment....

Shirly there must be a systematic check when these issues arise... My last problem was starter motor, cranking was getting slower and slower, which I wrongly assumed was a dying battery... Couldn't believe the difference in cranking speed after Mat Smith stuck a new one on the old girl

And whilst I'm not having a rant, all those fuses in the passenger footwell really pizz me off

Maybe it calls for a sticky somewhere...

You have said it all in title and thread, mis-diagnosis of the problem will send people off looking at the alarm, when it is not.
(I am not wanting to stop this sort of thing to happen...but in ALL my ownership of ALL the TVR's I have owned AND THEN ...ALL the TVR's I have ever worked on, I have only seen 4-5 alarm issues!! and only one on a Chimaerea)

PS My Chim has the fuse box behind the seat and battery in the boot...

Unbelievable!!! Just been out to move the golf and it wont start.... starter motor wont stop spinning unless I disconnect the battery... reconnect and it starts spinning again.. with no key in or ignition on.. Grrrrr must've talked it up

Tiv started fine though

Thanks Dave, very helpful..

As is happens, a passing mate said tt the starter solenoid, which I did, and the little buggers working again now

Speak to Adrian Venn about a starter motor rebuild, he recently did mine to a fantastic standard after I was suffering from the same problem as above with hit and miss starting,all sorted now

+1 regards Adrian Venn, top bloke who made up my hydraulic pipe from master Cyl to clutch slave Cyl at 6.30pm when his dinner was on the table!
For those that don't know him he's a master at the older Tvr's.
Really Helpfull chap.

Yes that's all very well, but the starter motor problem was the Golf, not the Tiv... Beastie had a new starter motor fitted by Mat back end of last year Appreciate the input though guys, as always PH comes to the rescue

BTW, Alun, what's all this Boxster nonsense you're wittering on about?????
