I had a leak from a oil feed to one of the turbo's on my 996 turbo last month. It happened four days before I was due to go on a 5 day driving holiday in the French Alps with another 190 Porsche's smile. You can image how gutted I was when I saw a pool of oil under the car just before my trip. Anyway, I took the car to my local Porsche independent garage who have looked after my car for several years now. They inspected the car that morning and confirmed the worst and told me that they would have to take the engine out to fix the leak and could not book me in until after my trip away frown. I did not want to drive the car while there was any possibility that I could breakdown in the Alps as this would be disastrous. So I started to call around to see if another garage could help me before my trip, otherwise I was going to have to cancel which would of been a great disappointment.

My first call turned out to be the best call!

I called DMS and spoke with Tony who was very helpful and said there may be a chance of them taking a look at the car the day before I went away. I received a call back within the hour from their mechanic who said if it was just the oil feed to the turbo he could fix it for me.

The very next day DMS sent someone down from Southampton (a two hour drive) to collect my car and took it back to their garage (another 2 hour drive). Fixed the car and drove it all the way back to me that very same day. Wow! what amazing service.

Now this is the amazing part of the story and I can assure you this is 100% the truth.

I called DMS when I got back from my trip to thank them for fixing the car at such short notice and for saving my very special holiday. I then asked for the bill expecting it to be a lot due the short notice and petrol and time collecting and returning my car. I was told "there's no charge". "are you sure", I said, "yes there is no charge as you have been a good customer over the years", (they upgraded my car last year and have done other work previously for me).

Total bloody amazing! I assure you I have no affiliation with DMS, just thought I would share my story as I have seen some bad press on here recently regarding them and they are such a good company.

Thank you DMS for saving my trip to the Alps smile which turned out to be one of the best driving trips of my life.

Blimey, good story.

Sounds like they deserve some good PR after that.

Good way to lock in a valued customer though.

Very good service indeed. So it didn't the engine out then?

I make furniture for a living, and when the occasional problem pops up for a longstanding customer, I do the same. It will never make me a millionaire, but hey ho, giving something back as a thank you is what its all about in my eyes.

Well done to them smile

I dealt with them also recently and must say they are very good. I had a 'special DMS service' (read engine tune) done on my wife's Jag XF S and when I needed to take it back to the dealer to have an unrelated fault investigated I called Tony, who promptly sent a technician round to remove the map for me. They are now sending someone round to my flat (in London) again tomorrow to put the map back on for me now its come back from Jag. And the cost for that. Nothing. 'All included in the original map price'. Great service. You get what you pay for.

Bloody great story fair play to them.
DMS have done all the work on my car (550 bhp) prior to my ownership though.
I'd use them but living in Sheffield its a little far to travel.
