How much should I expect to pay for a 182 Trophy?

Obviously these are quite rare cars, but what should I expect to pay for a well-looked after example with between 50-80k on the clock? The car valuation websites are suggesting around £3k, but surely this can't be right?

Guides are notoriously unreliable for rare cars like that.

Just looking on Autotrader I'd suggest low 4 to mid 5k seems like an attainable price point. Whether they're worth that sort of premium is personal preference.

Yes, you'd seem to be right. It's knowing whether they're worth that amount of cash. Thanks for the feedback.

I sold mine last year with aprox 50ish k on (i cant quite remember) for £5000 it was a pretty good example to be fair. I think i could of maybe got a little more for it. But the sale was so easy. I didnt even advertise it. Said on the owners club i was thinking of selling. Someone pm'd me, they came look at it that weekend, picked it up the weekend after.

Was a good car, as mentioned some fairly expensive bills for a hot hatch. Sach dampers re build, cambelt, oem exhausts rot so i had a custom one made.

Probably the suspension setup that was "tuned to UK" roads, complete with old dampers, shagged out springs and perished bushes. Give it a full suspension overhaul and I'm sure it's a great little hot hatch (apart from the seating position), but the same suspension overhaul would turn any 182 into a good car.

Mainly because it's so highly rated. EVO speak very highly of it. I like to research my next car in-depth, so I've read plenty of reviews.

I was in the market for one of these for the last few months, and they were selling at that kind of money before the summer. Dealers seemed to be buying them up and bunging £2k+ on the asking prices, i went for a DC2 Type R instead in the end as i didn't think the trophys were worth the premium.

I'm starting to come to the same conclusion. How much should I expect to pay for a DC2? Most seem to have huge mileages!

I would say £4k should get you into a good Trophy, I bought mine a couple of years ago and didn't plan on keeping it this long but I still enjoy driving it. It is worth paying a bit more if the dampers have been refurbished and the cam belt has been done, as if both of these need doing it will be at least £1k for that work alone.

I think there are less than 400 left on the road now, so hopefully they will continue to hold their value!
