R1200GS or R1150 Adventure
Discussion
Been looking at both today but the earliest 1200 GS will be avaialble at the end of February. Despite being rather ugly, it has quite brilliant reviews.
Or...........
They have an R1150 Adventure available in black with mandarin yellow seat and I really like the look of it but wonder if, as soon as I buy it, it'll become outdated and plumet in value. BMW say, so far, no plans for an R1200GS Adventure as yet.
Both bikes similar price but the Adventure is available now whereas the 1200 GS a while off.
Do I buy the adventure or put a deposit on the 1200GS?
What would you do?

Difficult choice.
Having ridden both - my personal preference is the 1200 - lighter, more nimble and fun to ride.
For 99% of the time it's the better bike than the Adventure.
The Adventure would be great if you were planning your own "long way round" adventure!
But as an everyday proposition te 1200 wins hands down.

Yes I believe BMW are phasing out the 1150cc engine and replacing it with the 1200. The R1150RT is being replaced by a R1200RT in April and it looks weird. So the R1150 GS Adventure will disappear that's one of the reasons why the 1200GS is in short supply plus the fact it's so good, don't worry though it'll hold it's value much better than the rice burners. Best to try before you buy

Thanks for that.
I like a bike where my legs are fairly straight, because I get cramp quite alot when on a sports bike.
That's partly why I chose the Multistrada.
Looks like deposit time then....
Well that's it now - deposit put down and dealer searching for a bike, possibly for January collection but more probably February.
Can't wait!
