Best microwave meals
Discussion
Before you shoot me down, I'm now home alone, with no kitchen, not feeling too good and all I have is a microwave, toaster, and kettle. I don't even have a means to cook spaghetti to go with my home bolognase in the freezer.
So question is, who makes half decent microwave meals these days? Got all the main shops including waitrose round here apart from sainsburys.

All microwave meals are overpriced. I have discovered however that if I or the Mrs. can get to our local Waitrose around mid-day on a Monday there are lots reduced to £1-£1.50 at which point they are worthwhile and used to stock the freezer for work lunches or lazy dinners.
Well, you're paying for the convenience. Ping, and it's ready. I dislike ready meals.

The ready meals are still better than what was thrown at me at hospital atvthe weekend so can't grumble.
Re cost. I don't think £2 for meal is too bad, it's cheaper than the chippy and a lot cheaper than a takeaway, and very easy and convenient, sure I would prefer my home cooked one but I've certainly had a lot worse cooked for me freh before, will keep an eye out for them in the bargain bin for freezer stocking incase I'm ill again
For dessert, try a reverse baked Alaska.
Buy a block of vanilla ice cream, and store at the back of the freezer so it's rock hard. Cut off the block the amount you want, then cut the portion in half. Scoop out an area from each bit, and fill with your favourite flavour jam. Put the 2 halves back together, and smooth over with a knife so you can't tell it's been cut at all. Jam hidden inside.
Microwave on full power for about 10 seconds. Ice cream will still be rock solid, and jam in the middle will be boiling.
