Topics per page option?

I've tried altering the page length in my preferences but it doesn't seem to alter the number of topics listed per page, should it and if not is there an option to do this as the short list I see now is really quite short indeed and I'd like to see more rather than flip from page to page?

Sorry, the posts per page is the only option we have at the moment to customise your view, and this will only do the actual posts inside a topic and not the topic page itself.
