I kid you not.....on the M23... I did have to ask if he was in a hurry because I was'nt. He said he liked the empty roads at 3:00am in the morning. What was he driving? I hear you ask.....a Prius of course!

You are also assuming that the speedo on that thing is reading correctly. 106 on the clock could easily be 96 in reality which is 'just' inside the 3 points territory. There are quite a lot of people who will happily drive at a GPS 93-95 to reflect this generosity when the conditions allow.

Still fairly stupid in this case though as I suspect that a Pious has a fairly accurate speedo and, as said, their licence might be important (if they have one!)

Laughed out loud - you are correct.

Better than that - Acapulco in Mexico... driver dropped us off at pub in evening, told us he'd wait to take us home, we insisted its a waste of his time as we were out for the night, see where we end up... he decided to wait and sat at the bar drinking all night, we went to 3 more bars and he followed. Got us home with no drama except un-wittingly starting the car in gear and hitting a wire fence. He laughed it off.

That's only from a standing start at the 2mile marker keep going on the flat and you'll get more not a huge amount more.

Whilst I cannot say I have been there myself I have heard that India is the place to go for exciting taxi rides.

Especially seeing as though the only traffic law they have is "Don't hit the cows!"

Probably not, because of that ridiculous policy that says you can speed with speed with relative impunity if your 'livelihood' depends on driving. Whereas everyone else would get banned. It's how we end up with people with huge amounts of points and yet no totting up ban.

I've had a couple of ~100mph cab rides from Houston Int over to Westchase; almost every time I've been there I've had some NASCAR nut of a driver. Never complained mind

I was late for a flight in France once, flagged down some mundane white 406, told him I was late, next thing I know he's flicking switches in the front, things are happening, he swapping the steering wheel and before I I could say merde, were doing 160, made my flight though.......











.....really should dig out the Taxi movies for a boys movie night.
