E90 330i or something else

I've become a bit jaded by cars. Been happy in a Suzuki Swift for a few years now and couldn't see the point in spending any more money for another car. However, of late I've been thinking about these in M Sport, manual, four door spec.

Anything else worth considering?

Don't want anything too old, french, unreliable or chav.

I bought an E90 330i last year when Mrs Lauda got pregnant and the 350Z was no longer practical. It's a good car - quick enough, refined, well-specced. Don't expect it to set your heart racing but as daily transport, it does the job.

Haggle on price. I got my 55 plate car for £4k.

I haven't seen many manual cars for sale but the ones that are don't seem to sell quickly.

£9K seems to be the dealer rate for a sub 60K mile example.

Mine was an SE, manual, about 78k on the clock and not exactly what you would call cherished. But it was one owner, full BMW service history and, touch wood, it's been as good as gold. Not that expensive to run either since I don't do a lot of miles. Tax is less than £300, insurance less than that and it will do over 400 miles on a tank if you're on the motorway a lot.

The guy I bought from had had zero interest with it advertised at £5k so when I showed him an envelope full of notes, he didn't feel inclined to say no!

They are quite nice to drive in manual form it's a nice engine plenty of go but good mpg.
I've got a 330 saloon sport on a 57 plate and a 335i in coupe form the 335i feels a lot more car for very similar money so you might want to consider the 335i as well.
They are certainly good value my 2007 330i manual 4 door is up for £6,500.
