What bizarre things have you seen on the Motorway?

A cyclist southbound on the M3 this evening.

A horse running down the middle lane on the M62 a couple of months back.
Also saw a motorcyclist get knocked off right in front of me at 70mph, fortunately he got straight back up!

A colleague driving in fog on the M40 one night came across a coach on its side for no apparent reason. He suspected swervage but it was only a guess.

Doing 70 on the M25 one evening I was overtaken by two guys in a Sierra with a door on the roof rack standing up at 45 degrees with just impossibly thin, straining, bungie cord holding it. The blythe looks on their faces as they passed horrified fellow motorists is what sticks in my mind. Didn't they wonder why everyone looked so concerned? Or why they could watch the needle of the fuel gauge going down?

Not the motorway but on the A42, a van on its side with rear doors open and 40 or 50 pigs heads scattered all around it.

I once saw a Ford Ka driving at 60mph on the inside lane. Only joking.

I guess everyone has been stuck in traffic at some point and noticed just one shoe sitting by the central reservation? I always wonder where on earth the other shoe got to

Twice now I've seen blokes on their own walking between the barriers of the central reservation of motorways. HTF did they get there?

Thinking about it, does it explain why solid concrete barriers are now being installed? Is it a common phenomenon?

Many Many years ago before I had a car I was passengering in my mates metro heading down to Banbury.
We were fairly surprised to find a portakabin bouncing end over end in the middle lane of the M1.

And about 3 months ago I saw a megane cabrio with a fridge freezer standing up in the passenger seat sort of leaning on the windscreen with a bloke crammed in the back holding it still.

I didnt laught at all as it was pissing down at the time.

Front half of a Reliant Robin with someone's leg in it. It had been ripped in half in a crash but what struck me as bizarre was that the leg was in a wellie boot.

A man wandering up the hard shoulder of the M1 at about 2am one Saturday morning. Middle of nowhere, no obvious sign of how he got there...

On one of my first long motorway journeys I learned a valuable lesson in not taking my eyes off the road.

I looked down at my stereo for a moment and when I looked back up there was an approx 1m diameter ring of short concrete pipeline in the lane in front of me. I had to swerve into the next lane without looking first. Never again.
