I know it's everybodys favourite subject.....my RH pod refuses to raise. I can raise it manually and it will lower again when you switch lights off, however won't pop back up again.

I've so far checked the fuse, relays, wiring, rod mechanism and have come to the conclusion that the motor is gubbed (scottish expression!)

I know it's a TR7 motor - question is where do I get one from - anyone know of any Triumph or TR7 breakers I can contact??

Thanks, Alan.

It might be worth stipping the motor as I found mine to work much better after I'd cleaned up the commutator and greased the bearings.

Thanks guys, I'll try a strip down and if that doesn't work I'll order one from the list.

Make sure you get the right one with the same connectors or a connector adapter kit. It gets a bit embarassing otherwise and a mega mega DOH!

I got mine from Rimmer Brothers - on an exchange basis. You pay the full price and when they get yours back they refund you some cash.

Could it be a problem with the switch block on the side of the motor? Might be worth a look before you buy a new motor.

I'd second the suggestion to get the switch checked - had a similar problem on mine a couple of years back and it just needed the switch "cleaning", took a local auto electrician half an hour and he did it for free when he fitted an immobiliser for me.
