A bit of TFR and a good spray off would get the green off, followed by a clay and machine polish and I reckon that would come up ok.
Is it sad I'd love to try it?

I think that would actually come back ok. Strangely enough the muck might have stopped it fading more. My neighbour has a coupe cabriolet in exactly the same colour and it's quite far gone but I don't think it has a lacquer on so should buff up ok!

With barn finds, you sell it "as is" so it keeps its value. Maybe the seller is applying the same theory to this driveway find.

The paintwork will come up like new and the interior is already good, but what you can't easily make up for it all the underbody and engine bay parts that have suffered due to being sat outside over gravel for several years, without the benefit of airflow and heat.

I've bought cars like this before and it becomes a nightmare when trying to undertake even simple maintenance.

Similar to me I passed my test in 1991 and I used to see one local to me and it was a car that I had so much want for because I just loved the shape and I thought they were a seriously cool motor.

The advert and the car are genuine,it's just down the road from me and a couple of doors down from my mates house. It's been there for what seems like forever and hasn't moved from that spot. I remember it when it was in use and it was mint at the time. Just sent my mate the link as he has knocked on the door a few times over the years asking about it!

Yeah, this is the salient point really.

All she has is the registration document, which isn't proof of ownership and is likely to be in his name anyway.

It's not her car to sell unless ownership can be established, which is sure to be a messy and convoluted affair.

Could this be a really really convoluted scam to get the car back on the road at someone else's expense and then ex turns up and "claims" it? I'm being really cynical, but stranger things have happened...
