Hey guys,

Thought I would share one of the recent jobs I've done one.

Someone a short while back (think it might have been zig) said about the state of the bottom frame which connects the glass to the window mech. I said mine was also bad but seems to be holding on! Anyway, spoke too soon as I went to put the window down and they separated and pretty much collapsed! I thought my days of fixing rust on the wedge were over.!!

Took them off and they were an absolute mess...check this:

So, I took them to a local metal fabricator and told him what I needed. A few days later I went to pick them up and he had tried a few things but ended up buying ford transit window frame holders as they were the same.they were attached to the brackets which were salvaged from my old ones and hey presto.

New rubber on the window, a lot of squeezing and swearing and they are now in, good as new (if not better!)

Hopefully that's the last of my rust for a while!

The little tabs glue onto the window and have the strap attached which you adjust to make the window stop otherwise it will just keep going up!

Ahhh...Thanks mate...I think mine has the same as what i had on Delilah...A bicycle cable locking screw in the rail..The one i got from the fest has the hole in the runner for exactly the same thing...Not 100% but don't seem to recall having what you have on the 350i...Might be a slight change in the 400 design being that bit later...Progress...Don't you just love it!..Ziga

Get them blast cleaned prior to zinc plating (don't go the bright gold passivate as it'll only last a week.

No more rust.

When I did mine I cut up an old bicycle inner tube - worked well.
