Anyone buy watches from these auctions ?

If so , any bargains to be had or is it pot luck ?

Be interested to hear any experiences anyone's had.

From what I see at Fellows in Birmingham, the hammer price may well look good but when you add 25% commission and 20% VAT it does not look so attractive.

Bought one last year from Bonham's for Mrs west, a J12 (don't ask, she likes them). Turned out to be a pile of crap and nothing close to the description so they had to refund me. Try to get to the viewing pre sale if you can.

Keep looking for something but will only go for full B&P and top notch. 25% & vat buyers premium needs to be factored!

In my experience this is the place to SELL a watch, not buy one. High prices and poor quality.

I went to a Bonhams sale early in the year to buy this Tank (https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21662/lot/207/) for the currant Mrs Sultana.

So a box but no papers, a damaged case, and not actually running. I was thinking £1 - 1.5k

This is a £5k watch brand new and it made £2750 damaged and not working !
