Sound deadening results

Today I sound deadened the chimaera with some left over material from work, it's construction grade rubber matting (can't remember name) it only took a couple of hours from start to finish and I'm so pleased with the results I hadn't to share my joy. Instead of rattles and road noise etc I just get the lovely v8 exhaust note from the rear. I did the floor of the cabin, the top of the middle tunnel and the parcel shelf, the floor of the boot inc the part above the fuel tank and the back of the panel covering the battery. Not sure how dyna matt etc perform but I think if I didn't have this materials I would have done it with one of these. The car also feels more solid which is strange and also encourages confidence.

What sort of weight would you estimate you've put in? I'm going to do the carpets this winter and will sound proof it with something, just not sure yet.

I would love to do something like this to mine, conversation can be awkward when cruising at 80mph with all the noise!

80! you mean 70 as Im sure your insurance company knows your speedo overeads by 10mph.

Probably around 12.5 kg about 1/2 a bag of cement, not noticeable to me anyway.

Any heat proofing benefits?

Not to my knowledge but maybe a little, didn't really have that in mind.
