Evening all. My Vantage is coming up for its fourth service in a couple of months and probably going to need a full set if tyres.

What prices should I expect to pay? I have been quoted £1100 including 'collect and drop off'. 4.7 if that makes any difference.

Tyres I think were quoted at £340 per rear, and £280 per front fitted etc. Seems a bit steep? Multi spoke wheels.

Tyre wise, since I'm replacing all 4, is it wise to go OEM? Anything better out there? I really liked the P-Zeros I had previously on my Evora.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Justin220,

Have a look on the Aston Martin official website where they quote fixed service prices at a much lower price than you have been quoted from presumably the only Aston main agent in Scotland.
Here is the link to the official AM website.

http://www.astonmartin.com/en/servicing#pricing

In my case last November, the AM dealer in Edinburgh called me and quoted £1,400 for a sixth year V8VR service which I declined (I am intending to keep my car) so i just bought the AM parts and got it serviced locally.
Their quote will probably include for collection which I believe they charge circa £300.
Also bear in mind that AM Edinburgh will also quote a much higher price for tyres, but in reality they just get another firm in to supply and fit.
Rear Potenzas are around £250 from memory and that is fitted, they are available for circa £200 if you buy online (excluding delivery and fitting).
If I would have known about the fixed pricing on the AM website I would have challenged the dealers price.

tyres certainly steep...you could order from a local tyre place and get them fitted for about £250 each rear and £200-220 each front.

Service price - ring around a few dealers and let them know you are comparing, you might get it down to sub £750

Hola Justin - I've an uncle in Oldmeldrum, up in your neck of the woods !!!

First things first.....you need to expedite this service in a timely manner....the Scottish groat ain't gonna be on parity with GBP, post Independence Day nono

Secondly, Bogie's right....that is too much for this service. Despite the 4th service being one of the most expensive on the V8V you should ask the Dealer for an itemised quotation. Ask them to remove the charge for 'bending you over backwards on a caber and toss'.......you catch my drift.

Please do not pay more than £1k for all 4 tyres FITTED.

I think you need to consider a weekend down south to visit Bridge Mill perhaps, or even an Indy in the North East ?? - whereby it would be cheaper to pamper your wife / bird / mistress / boyfriend / animal......than tolerate such exorbitant pricing smile

The aston martin web site prices are only for cars made after 2012. Still shop around though as others have suggested.

As for tyres, you should be able to get them below £1000. Plenty of threads on the subject with recommended alternatives if you fancy (eg Michelin super sport) and places to buy (oponeo, mytyres etc)

I did not notice that the fixed pricing on the AM website is for 2012 models only.
In reality Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Bentley et al actually offer reduced service prices for cars that are generally 4 years or older.

Agreed, but strangely it seems to work the other way with Aston Martin.

Justin, I had the seven year service carried out by Aston Martin Edinburgh back in May and the price was the same as what is quoted in the fixed price servicing menu. I think the extra in your quote will be for the pick-up and return of your car.
Regarding tyres this might be worth a read, it should give you an idea of what people are fitting and the prices being paid.

Gents,

Much appreciate all the replies. Tyre wise I did think that was steep. I'll have a read of that thread.

TBH I'm not overly impressed with the current OEM tyres, but might just stick with them since they are OEM.

Servicing wise I'm keen to get an AM Dealer stamp to keep the history up, but thought that £1100 was extremely steep when this is an 'intermediate' service..
