Route planning recommends please

Will be embarking on a driving holiday a little later in the year. A friend and I plan a long first day to maybe Avignon then a short drive to Monaco for a couple of days R&R, there's no scope to alter the drive down, it has to be as direct as possible, however, the drive home can take 2 or 3 days so I'm all ears for suggestions.....cheers

If your coming back the same way, then the fabulous Gorge du Tarn is a must and surely the Millau Bridge. Pont Du Nord is well worth a visit and something I'm glad to have visited.Some gorgeous roads throughout that area. Have a good trip

Could you have time even to head east past chamonix then up into swotzerland to do a few passes before going through lucern to the black forest then onto the D996 just south of dijon ?

Route Napoleon overrated...? What makes you say that..? I think the D6085 Route Napoleon from Grasse up to Castellane, or the D955/D21 from Draguignan up to Seranon, are amongst the best roads in Europe.Gorge du tarn and the whole of Cevennes nat park

It's busy and great in places but no better than many many other roads in europe which have zero cars on them. That was the consensus last year when 9 of us did it and for that 10 day trip it wasn't even considered a highlight. Take your pick from dozens and dozens of roads in Austria which murder it IMO.

Really? I would have assumed the colours/font of UK plates rather give the game away but I'd be intriged to hear otherwise.Would you put the country identifier on the plate since it's more discreet than a 'GB' sticker?
I would never suggest that anyone do anything illegal, but a 3x 3x registration seems to get no interest taken whatsoever in Europe.
But not on the front plate - that's as plain as a plain thing.

I have on the rear yellow plate, which makes everyone happy.But not on the front plate - that's as plain as a plain thing.
