Aventador at Bruntingthorpe
Discussion
I don't even usually visit these hallowed pages but a friend won a couple of places on a 200mph + experience at a charity auction and kindly invited me to go with him.
We each had a "sighting" lap in a 458 in which we both hit about 173mph before having to start braking then back to the briefing / pit area to get into the burnt orange Aventador: Beautiful looking car on dark coloured alloys and sounded awesome, especially in Sport (+?) mode.
After a brief struggle to get in (I'm fairly tall plus wearing a helmet), quite comfy behind the wheel although headroom still lacking and trickle away to begin the build-up.
The next couple of minutes passed in a blur of shouted instructions from the passenger, the howl and bark from the engine and exhaust with fairly violent gear changes punctuating very "vivid" acceleration down the main runway. I remembered to not hold the wheel too tightly and to keep an eye on the speedo: 163, 178, 185 - foot hard against the pedal into the footwell - 192, 196, 199, 201 and "brake, brake, brake". Whew! Big grin! Back to the pits where my friend is still shaking slightly from his turn, just before mine. Great day, great fun, great car(s)!

Thanks red duke.
I believe the cars are privately owned and just hired fby the company that runs the day. Some of the other participants paid this company direct - we just happened to get ours through a charity event. Ie, anyone can go and take part, booking through the company direct.
It was a great experience but have to say it was pretty expensive for a single "lap" in a 458 and another in the Aventador.
