Hi all

Just returned from holiday to find a letter on the doormat from the dvla telling me that my weekend toy (mx5) does NOT appear on the MID.

The letter is dated 11/07. I renewed my insurance back in April with Adrian flux, even using the same insurer. I checked a couple of times at the time and it REMAINED on the database throughout. I have just checked now and it IS showing up as insured. Nice green page with a satisfying tick.

So, question is, WTF do I about it with these loons? 3 months into my policy they chuck me a letter out telling me to get insured or sorn the vehicle.... I'm perplexed!

hehe quite. I will do that, but unfortunately that means sitting on the phone forever. I that I despise.

The point being, they are useless idiots!

It would be easier to phone up Adrian Flux. TBH with my past experience with Sterling when they were a subsidiary of Flux nothing would surprise me.

In fact if I were you I'd bypass Flux and phone the underlying insurer to confirm you actually are insured with them. The DVLA may be numpties but they may have done you a favour...

This is the thing. It IS showing on the database. Yesterday, today and continuously for the last 2 years

Really? You checked "every day for the last two years"? Or you're assuming that because it's on today, it was on yesterday et al?

Would that solve the issue? I've tried about 10 times to solve an issue with them via the phone, no luck.

The only option I believe is to write a letter and send it in the post.

To be fair, last time I phoned it was relatively quick and painless, 15 minutes, if that.
But the time before that was so bad I broke my pen (and I liked that pen cry)

Admittedly, Not every day, no! However, at changeover in April, every day from the day before the switch for the next 10 days or so. A couple of times since, once in may when I made a policy amendment and once again yesterday when I got the letter. It's still there this morning.

I've phoned the helpline on the letter this morning (mid) and they said it was a random scan on the 11/07 and it was showing up as not on the database on that date

Looks like I need to get onto flux and find out the crack.
