Hi guys, figured I would join this forum as my google search for various car problems always seem to bring me to this forum haha. I currently drive a Fiesta, first car but it's done me well and is an ongoing project so if you've seen a fiesta knocking about with an awful green and blue two tone paint job, then you'll know I'm trying to sort that haha! The main question I have is what do you reckon about buying a Cat C or D car? I'm actually looking at one to donor some better body panels and mainly source the engine so it wouldn't be getting taxed or MOT'd etc as I can arrange delivery. Most of them seem to be going for no more than 200quid in reasonable condition and low mileage. This all seems a little too good to be true as in essence, I could buy a car for 200, sort the panels out for pennies and then sell it on for more but I have no intentions of this as I said before I wish to fit a larger engine to mine from the donor. If I'm in the wrong section or anything please let me know as I'm new to all this, thanks for any help!

If you are just going to strip it for parts, then often a car c/d is a good move (so long as the parts you want are sound).

Strip it, take the parts you want, sell the bits you don't need and weigh on the shell (or collected for free if you don't have a trailer).

Is the bodywork on your car that bad that it can be improved by a Cat C or D

The panels aren't really what I'm too fussed about, ideally a new front bumper would be nice as mine is cracked but the main thing I'm after is the engine and box. I figure the cat d-c cars are my cheapest option to get everything I need for the conversion provided it runs
