Good lad. Have fun but be careful on these slippery roads.

There is a unhappy thread on SELOC by some guy who wrote off his 111r by loosing control on a greasy road.

Doug, thats terrible news. Bad picture too. These roads are way too slippy for these cars arent they. You think you have all the grip in the world then bam!! you find something hard imbedded in the clam.
Tough luck.
Is the insurance paying out?

So far so good with regard to insurance, no nasty suprises yet but i'm still waiting for them to give the official green light for the repair. Should hear this week.

Your right about the overconfidence you can develop with this car. The handling is like nothing you've driven before, your able to corner at incomprehensible speeds but all it takes is a bit of a slippery surface (wet surfaces not so bad but anything causing the roads to be a little greasy) and its so easily lost.

My message to all new recipiants of 111R's this winter is to take it easy until conditions pick up.

I will take that on board, got over confident in mine yesterday and nearly had a smash with a Jag so now taking it very easy, how did it happen?

Didnt realise it was you Doug. Glad you are alright though and the insurance is going through ok.

I had a shunt in mine a few months ago. Some woman skidded across the road straight into me. No where as bad as yours but I needed a new front clam and front wheel and was without the car for the best part of 6 weeks.

It will feel amazing when you get it back and although I drove a bit gingerly at first you soon fall in love with it again

At least when you get it back the weather should be better and you can give it the stick it deserves.
