Is this reasonable?

On the 7th May this year i bought an Audi A3 from a approved Audi garage (not dealer, just an Audi specialist) , it came with 3 months warranty. The car cost just over £10,000

I have now noticed that the cars alarm has no audidble sound, it only clicks the indicators, and the n/s wing mirror doesnt heat up and clear like the o/s.

Everything else with the car is excellent, I am thinking about ringing them tomorrow? I am being reasonable doing this?

The car is within warranty. If the alarm is covered under warranty then it's entirely reasonable. If not, I'd still take a punt on the basis that you have nothing to lose, and you may well be on the receiving end of some goodwill on the part of the dealer.

There is normally a function on cars to disable the audio from an alarm. I'd look into this first as its probably something really simple.

Having googled silent alarm audi a3 there are a million and one threads about the sensor batteries giving up. Simple fix apparently.

These guarantees for second hand cars often just cover engine and gearbox. But if it covers the whole car, then I'd take it back and politely have a word. They should be easy things to fix anyway.

Yes, very. Be polite and tell him the above. He may have it covered under warranty. It may be an easy fix and not worth him making a claim. He may do it out of good will. He may ask for a fee but since he specialises in these cars it should be reasonable. Good luck.

If you get no joy with the garage, check that the alarm sounder is actually plugged in - I unplugged the one from my A6 because I had to use the spare key for a while and it does not disable the alarm

For that price, for that car, for that dealer; yes it's reasonable and well worth giving them a call or dropping in.
