Some Advice Appreciated (Used car purchase & repairs)

Hi Guys (and possibly girls..)
I've been stewing over this a lot, and felt it time to ask the PH'ers.
I bought a car in January (around £3k for a guide of price - partially on Credit Car). When I agreed the sale and made the deposit, certain terms were agreed to which included fixing the broken glove box, repairing a bit dent in the door and getting a spare key for it. Came with a 3 month warranty.
When I came to pick it up, it turns out the glovebox hadn't been fixed (latch was broken), but bodged with velcro - and the key was 'on order'. Had a bit of a disagreement with the trader (forecourt), but agreed to still complete the purchase with £50 off to get the glovebox sorted myself.
Not long (a week or so) into ownership, it got a P0420 Fault - took it straight back because it just wasn't running right and I had a warranty. This was the start of a nightmare.
Basically, he had the car around 3 week to a month - I got it back eventually and the cat had been changed, but I wasn't sure if it had been done right at the time (sounded a little raspy). The key was still 'on order' I've not done much mileage at all in the car, maybe 1000 miles in 5 months, and most of it was just off my mind at the time with other things. I bought a lambda sensor, MAP sensor, plugs leads and air filter as a result of general good maintenance and half to try and see if it would cure the hiccup the car has had since I bought it - I was so worried about him having the car for a month again, I spent my own money; this was past the warranty, too.
Fast forward to now, I still don't have any key nor has the Trader contacted me in 6 months (considering he was supposed to have it on order), and the Exhaust Manifold (and Cat, all in one jobby) is blatantly blowing quite badly, plus the spray job on the door has 'shrunk' quite a bit, so looks like dry spray and is cloudy.
I would have done the manifold gasket myself (bought the part), but the monkey who changed the cat under warranty (probably him) look to have rounded off most of the bolts.
I'm a bit pee'd off about the whole thing, having a door that I could have sprayed myself with rattle cans and got a better job, plus a blowing manifold that I probably can't remove and no spare key.
Where do I stand on this sort of thing - he's been a slippery bugger over the topic in the past, so ringing him is on the agenda but by no means likely to achieve much..

So you were happy with the repair on the door when you collected it but are not happy with it now? Did replacing the exhaust fix the fault the car had? The manifold blowing 6 months into ownership has nothing to do with the seller.
Why haven't you contacted the seller in the last 6 months about the spare key?
Personally I think you have missed the boat on this one. If you were unhappy with the exhaust repair you should have said at the time not months later. Likewise the door repair.

The door was fine when I collected it, but like I said the paint has now gone bad.
The manifold blowing has everything to do with the seller - it's the part he replaced!
Not meaning it to sound funny at all by the way, but it's a little devoid of reality to say I should have said at the time, because the problems have manifested themselves since.

If they manifested themselves out with the 3 month warranty you don't have a leg to stand on. sandman77 said:

So you're essentially saying that any repairs done under warranty don't have to last a reasonable amount of time? i.e. if you had a part replaced after two months, then two months later the same part failed, you'd accept that as the norm?
t situation is the solution to the problem.
