Tax disc

Is there anything in law that stops you displaying your tax disc in the back window above the parcel shelf, rather than the windscreen?

Yes, the law that says that it must be displayed in the nearside of the windscreen (or at the front nearside if it doesn't have one). Can't find the regulations right now, but it is quite clear.
