Sudden painful and slightly swollen wrist

I do a lot of lead bossing and Doc said it was tendinitis. It has now disappeared after 4 days, as quickly as it came. I had my suspicion of gout, I like a red wine tipple.
If so, is this an end to my enjoyment?

It could be a ganglion cyst - harmless but occasionally annoying. I had similar symptoms a few years back and it turned out to be that. It comes and goes, sometimes it bothers me but most of the time it's not even noticeable.
