Glass Fibre fitting in front of wipers

This fitting which extends the width of the bonnet opening and extends forward with the opening for the expansion tank etc incorporated has come loose on the drivers side nearest the window. At the front it is secured by allen bolts, but just seems glued to the bodywork at the back with some black adhesive. What should I use to glue it back onto the bodywork as it is rattling annoyingly?

Mine's not glued on at all. The allen bolts hold it at the front, then the weight of the bonnet lid (which is locked down by the rods controlled by the interior knob) holds the back of it down.
Mine too...although the bloody thing does rattle from time to time!
...Im going to see if I can find a thin strip of rubber edging to push on to the windscreen edge of the cover, to see if this will 'cushion' the two fibreglass faces from rattling against one another....

If you take it off you will see at the back, the edge nearest the window there is a cup shaped lip on either side. This is about 2 inches wide and cups snugley under the windscreen. This was designed (badly) to secure under the windscreen and hold the fiberglass in place while the allen key bolts at the front merely stop the cups from becoming disingaged.
Unfortunately becuase it is fiberglass and therefore suffers from vibration damage, there are oft broken.
Don't let your fiberglass rattle cos it'll damage your paintjob.

Steve, just go and buy some silicon sealant, that's all it is. You can buy it in black from places like Wickes/Jewsons etc. If you cannot find it in black just buy the clear stuff.
Huh? do you mean the cups are sealant, cos mine are fibrglass covered in rubber. I don't think wobbly sealant is going to hold anything in place +10mph let alone 100mph, or did I get the wrong end of the stick?
the sealent is a good idea in principal, as it would stick the front bulkhead pannel trim down, but won't that make removing it a bit of a problem?. if you do use it i would apply it to the bottom of the pannel, and spread thinly, allow to dry over night and re-fit. instant cushioning..
back to sticking it wet, i know it would come off but you might have to remove all the residue each time you lift the pannel, else it would just build up and up and when it's gets rearly high and you can't see over the pannel then you have a problem.
a good idea i didn't mention,(cos i forgot). is to use the water proof double sided black pads/tape, that the trade uses to stick on your rear view mirror, after your missuss has bent it to death putting her make up on. should do the job a treat, and easy to rub of with your pinky..
