The Best New Car for the Best UK Mix of Roads?

My chosen route yesterday for a site visit in the Lake District was this :
A519 Woodseaves to M6 J14
M6 J14 to J36
M6 J36 to Holmrook via A590 / A595
Getting stuck for four hours on the M6 South on the way back got me thinking about drive up. A decent length motorway schlep sandwiched between A Roads that offered wide, open straights / DC / tight and twisty sections / blind corners / steep gradients / narrow pinch points. That, for me, is a very good benchmark for a mix of road conditions.
It then got me thinking about what would be the best new car on sale today to tackle that route in. It can't be too tiresome on a long motorway drive, and be wieldy and "chuckable" with confidence on the twistier bits at either end. Enough power to have meaningful grunt out of slow uphill corners, and make the odd straight bits disappear a bit faster than necessary.
Initially, I thought Nissan GT-R. But on reflection I suspect the ride would be too hard for the less well surfaced sections of road, and it would certainly be uncomfortably wide for parts of the A595. Currently, the best two I can come up with are :
Porsche Cayman S
BMW M4351
Any more suggestions?
