Does anyone know how the tracker/fob system works ? I've lost the fob to my 2006 997.
Does the fob itself emit any sort of signal that I can trace? I'm sure that the tracker in the car itself has some sort of GPS capability, but how about the fob?

However, Cobra did program an unused fob for a friends 997 Turbo remotely. The owner of the Porsche called Cobra, authenticated himself and explained that only one fob worked. They asked him to get inside the car with the unused fob and few seconds later, the fob was programmed. Therefore, assuming you can buy a new fob directly from Cobra they should be able to programme it for your car remotely.

You can't locate the fob, it doesn't have any form of internal GPS, however a new one is £20 from Porsche. Contact Cobra will then they'll de-authorise the old fob, and authorise the new one. Call Cobra first to explain that one fob is missing so they can de activate it.Does the fob itself emit any sort of signal that I can trace?
