Buying car - number plate oddity red flag?

Hi,
I am looking at a used car in the UK and did a vehicle history check. It shows the number plate was changed in May 2014, but the photos on the dealers website show the previous number plate. Secondly a check on the current number plate with DVLA shows no information found and a check on the previous number plate shows no MOT and a SORN. How could a test drive be legal in this circumstance (which they agreed to)?
I am thinking of walking away (but will wait to see if the car in person has the new plates and a valid MOT + tax) - but is there an obvious legit reason for the above?

where has that parrot gone on holiday this year?
Sounds ok to me I would guess the car is due to have old plate put back on and has previous owners private plate on it. Nothing to worry about just do checks for both plates (if relevant) on mot history and service history.
Test drive will be ok as dealer will ave trade plates.
