V8V Satin black alloys fitted.
Discussion
So I've owned the V8V for over a year now and have still been split 50/50 with the wheels it came with, (some 20", wider, aftermarket 5 spoke alloys) which also caused there to be a bit of a split in the first thread I created from photo's of when I originally bought it.
After all this time, I finally made the decision that if I'm still unsure then perhaps they're not for me so I decided to get the 7 spokes refurbed and powder coated satin black with Potenza rubber
My question is why did it take me so long to do this?! Even in these quick mobile snaps it looks light years better but in the flesh, I just can not take my eyes off it! The satin black has certainly given it a more stealth/sleek look but the ride, comfort and handling have all seen significant improvements too.
Originally I had planned to put the original alloys on as I was getting to the point where I was thinking about moving on from ownership after a wonderful year of it and thought enthusiasts would want originality but now I can't see that plan being followed through as it's certainly re-lit a spark of passion for the car.
Anyway acouple of before and after pics, I shall hopefully be able to get some more better quality photo's soon
I've had nothing except compliments at work with the original alloys fitted and the massive improvement that they've made.

Looks good... I really like the original 7 spokes or the sportpack wheels are nice too and satin black or anthracite is an easy to keep clean option which I have on all my cars for the last 15 years or so...I hate cleaning wheels
Thanks
I have to keep on top of cleaning the wheels as the brake dust on these pads seem to shed themselves all over the wheels just after afew miles steady driving! GingerMunky said:
Way better, they look really good to be fair. Must be unique too
Thanks, while choosing the colour I was unsure whether to just go for the proven formula of the standard colour. I couldn't find many V8V's with darker wheels other than afew on Google images but in the decided to do something a little different and I think it's certainly paid off. There's afew dark bits on the car like the headlight inserts and and wing mirror brackets etc so there's something for the wheels to blend in with. Helps with the paintowrk being being the colour it is too. All round, I think it was the right decision

What have you done with the original set of wheels and tyres?????
The silver 5 spokes? I've made an advert to sell them currently in the parts section on pistonheads

must be a Marmite thing because I think they look awful......but it's your car and you like them so thats all that matters
The colour in general? Would you have gone for the standard silver?SupraGaz said:

they look too big , they stick out from the arch, and black wheels on an Aston don't work for me ......they look like cheap alloys purchased from some back street alloy shop.....sorry not for me
But apart fro that its a great car
