The original thread with the successful conclusion and purchase of a Lotus 2-Eleven

Now with a newborn and possibly wanting a change

Current fleet is the Lotus and Alafa GT diesel

Now the plan could be to sell both cars and replace with something along the lines of :

BMW 7 Series/ C class/ M5 etc
Bec kit car

Or

Keep the Alfa and sell Lotus and get something ideally with 4 seats but 2 seats may do

Maserati granturismo 4.7
Porsche turbo 997
Porsche Gt3 comfort pack need rear seats
Lotus exige cup s2/3
Lotus Evora

Maybe buy cheap track car for the future....

I have previously owned a R35 Gtr

Just don't know the route to take next any comments and suggestions would be appreciated, budget Max 55k

Don't underestimate how much space a rear-facing child seat takes up. Four seats is probably a bit useless if you can't use them to carry the baby.

Having said that, I believe Porsche make (or more probably have made) seats specifically to fit in the back of a 911.

True, but that might not leave enough leg-room in the rear for an adult.

Buy a Caterham/Lotus/Insert sports car here

How does anyone live long term with the MC shift gearbox...its awkward even jerky in full auto

I have a GranTurismo MC shift and I love the gear box, I never use it in auto mode and have found that you can smooth out the change with a bit of practice. I do very little town driving which helps a lot, I think that if I drove in town most of the time I would like the gear box a lot less.
I can get an isofix rear facing child seat in the back with no problems at all.
It is a great car that sounds fabulous and is always an event to drive.
