2000 A4 Allroad - recipe for bork?

A friend is looking at one of these (2.5TDi)- how do they fare in the reliability stakes? Something in my head says there's something expensive about the suspension, but my head easily makes things up.
It's relatively high miles at 160k, but searching suggests that it's of the age that the engine will happily truck on for a long time.

Suspension airbags prone to ripping, which over-works the compressor and the car sags when parked. Airbags and compressor aren't cheap.
Audi autoboxes are prone to difficulties on the quattros, so best to find a manual.
And cambelt replacement is a front-end-off job. Circa £1k (inc. waterpump) through a main dealer - cheaper through an independent, but still worth checking before you buy.
Good car, but not a cheap one to run. My auto 2.5tdi managed high-20s mpg at best.
If you don't need the higher ground clearance, get a standard A6. If you do need the ground clearance, buy a Subaru Outback or Forrester instead.
