I filled out the online form, to express intrest in going. But.....

I heard nothing further, so sadly I did not go.

I would also be intrested to learn if anyone actually went!!

Yep, 15 cars turned up! Tuscans (& 's), Tamoras, Cerbs, T350's, a Chimera, a Griffith (i think?)

Excellent day with good instruction on how to get around tricky winter situations then open pit lane 3-5 with 'interesting' driving on the floodlit track

Also got passenger laps in the Sagaris which was quite an experience.

Yeah i went too in my t350c. had a fantastic time, learned a lot about the handling of the car as its only a few weeks old. i met the new tvr bos as well, bit shy and not very talkative. well i suppose if some strange over enthuastic irish guy comes up to you, youd be the same.

looks like they will be doing it again as a regular event. will post pics and video soon.

Did TVR get back to you following your registration ? or did you just turn up ? (just so I know for next time)

I heard nothing following my registration therefore assumed it was oversubscribed. Clearly is was not if there was only 15 Cars.

Far be it for me to knock it, as I was not there.

However.....I simply cannot believe TVR used 3 Sisters as a venue. Now I have raced there eleventy million times. - in a kart.

It is a very tight circuit for a kart never mind a 400 bhp car in the winter! - no runoff, big ruts in the grass off circuit, 15 changes in tarmac texture, and finally unyealding armco only on average 10 feet from the edge of the track.

Perhaps as a sprint venue, it would work ( and I know the TVR sprint champs use it) but as a track day venue with winter instruction it is madness. I am amazed none of the 15 (what a poor response) binned it.

Surely somewhere like Bruntingthorpe or Bedford autodrome which has big wide spaces, would be the hot ticket, this way instruction on what to do when it does go wrong in slippery conditions could be done without the risk of fibreglass and armco becoming intimate.

I went to the Winter Driving Day and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was an early Xmas present from my wife and I know that she booked my place over the phone. I agree that it probably wasn't the best of circuits to use but it was a day to hone driving skills and not an out and out track day. I understand that this was a first for TVR and that they're looking to do a couple next summer (the northern one may well be at Oulton Park).
