Medium Estate / MPV Under £5k

I know nothing about this area of motoring (unless its an RS6 ), post for my brother.

He does a 50 mile commute each day so economy has to be decent, but diesel not essential.

Thoughts appreciated.

Citroen C3 Picasso, just about comes in under £5k.

Although hideous, the Skoda Roomster is also a great car, and cheap second hand too.
