LGV/HGV Training Query

Greetings folks!
I have just passed my HGV theory and hazard perception tests. I wish to commence driver training asap. I am based in Southport, and I am seeking advice/recommendations with regard to suitable HGV driver training centres in and around Preston/Liverpool area. I rang a well known, national training company, and was subjected to a lot of sales pitch, promising to write my CV, conduct job research etc Basically, they are promising the moon on a stick, which seems too good to be true. They want £1998 for both categories class 2 & 1. They admit to being more expensive than many other companies, but stated they offer far more support/advice/assistance than a local training company will.
I am aware that with the introduction of the CPC requirement, come September, there will be plenty of work opportunities. My question is, should I go with the large, national training company? Or, would I be just as well relying on a local training company? Can anybody recommend a good training centre in the Preston/Chorley/Liverpool area?
