I found out what the braking issues was with my car, it was a sticking rear brake caliper, I have had all the calipers now removed front and back, stripped down and new Pistons and seals and Pads fitted, I also got the brakes flushed out so that they have fresh brake fluid in, at the same time I got the mechanic to service the car and put a new starter motor on, as sometimes the solenoid stuck, he also said that the battery was no longer at its peak so for good measures I got him to replace that as well as having a fresh MOT. I am pleased to say the car is running fine now and would like to thank the forum members who answered my forum question about my brake problem that I posted back in March.

The mechanic said it was a pig to remove the rear calipers, he said they were a challenge, I really must try and use the car more, unfortunately I did less than 100 miles last year, only got it out the odd day when the sun was shining, in fact I can count on one hand how many times I have been caught out in the rain in the 29 years I have owned it. It has just gone over the 50,000 mile mark now,

I miss not having the TVR factory open anymore as I lived less than a 5 minute walk away and I also leased the land for my wife's horses which was next door to the factory before TVR turned it into a car park for there staff. I new one of the managers there, he was nicked name posy Dave, he was a true gentlemen and always looked after my car for me. I used to also talk to the mechanics as they stored the accident damaged cars right next to my wifes stables, they named the new TVRS boomerangs as they were always coming back home to be fixed.

If that is a black hood and maroon lettering/pinstripes, and grey leather with maroon piping, then it's an identical match to my first one.

Nice to see you posting in the forum ;^)

Interesting, I didn't know that style of spoiler was used as early as '85, I thought it came along in '89 with the 400SE.

I had the spoiler fitted in 1990 at the TVR factory as I thought it set it off, I have just found the bill for it, supplied fitted and painted it cost a grand total of £402 back then.

Made a mistake the car will be 28 years old going on 29 and I have owned it for the last 24 years, we bought it at Brighouse auctions in April 1990 for a grand total of £13,000.

Ah gotcha, I did think it was a bit odd! biggrin
Still, 24 years must be among the longest wedge ownerships, good effort! I've had two since 1995, the current 390SE since August 2000.
