My sister has had this and has been in bed for nearly 3 months. It was not diagnosed until after it had run its course but it has left her very very weak and laid up. Recovery is incredibly slow and very up and down.

Anyone got any experience?

I had pneumonia about five years ago and was out of action for a similar period. Highly recommend Prof Tim Evans at the Royal Brompton hospital, really knows his stuff and sorted me out.

I had pneumonia 4.5 years ago and haven't been right since, eventually lost my job due to suffering post viral fatigue ever since, I'm better now but only 70% what i was before the illness. Recovery ,depending on how serious, i.e. without complications like mine, and if both lungs affected can be over 6 months if not more.
