Is this an MOT failure?

Half the glass is out on my side light on the car. The light is fine and works perfectly.

Just it is Rain cats and dogs now, and really don’t feel like changing it. I know I am weak!

So is that an MOT failure?

I believe that t the rules that would be an mot failure ( unless you have a "friendly" MOT tester!)

I'm not sure it would be a fail. So long as the light works and there are no sharp edges left why would it fail? For a sidelight the glass doesn't alter the light pattern, so don't see a reason to fail. You could also use some clear tape to keep rain out and cover any edges.

Like the clear tape idea. Will give it try, as just found the lamp I brought doesn't fit anyhow.
