The early cars had a V-shaped attachment point in front of the engine crossmember.
Later ones have a hole about 2" diameter in the steelwork at either side through which you can put a rope - the problem in all cases is that when the rope's under tension it catches on the front airdam.

When I got pulled on to a flat bed after the fuel pump died, they were switched on enough to ask for the right flat bed (not that I thought there was a difference) that allowed for a low car to get pulled on, the flat bed comes down at a different angle I was informed (may be cobblers). During the pull the wire was only an inch from the bib spoiler but it never got any closer though we were all watching it like hawks.
Edit. Doh! this was from the towing eye welded to or cut into the chassis behind the nose. Not the best of things.

Had mine recently pulled onto a "low loader" (after the starter went mad!) and the V shamed tow hook was too tight so the guy used a "sling" and a hitch to go round the lower swing arm and that worked just fine.
As above they doe have "special" flat beds for "low" cars and they can be adjusted to a shallow angle.
My Wedge didn't need that as has reasonable clearance.
Car is sorted now.
