Saw this method many years ago and its now so obvious and simple. Makes me wonder how the common stalk method even became popular.

I always open bananas that way. Otherwise, they don't look like the bananas in cartoons, and that would just be wrong.

Yep.

I was taught to peel it that way by an Orang-utan in Borneo many years ago. She held a bunch of bananas in one hand by the stalk end. She then used her free hand to peel each in turn from the 'bottom' end. When she had finished eating the bunch, she discarded the skins, all still attached together by their stalks.

Seen it a lot before. Don't like it, it squashes the end of the banana. Stupid monkeys.

Clicked on the link whilst bored on a conference call - PC on silent. All I saw was an attractive lady with a wide mouth and a banana - it set a totally different expectation in my mind as to how the video would play out!!

Ditto. Why make it more difficult and risk that nasty plug bit left on 'top' (end) three times out of ten?
